I'm totally being Positive + + +

So as many of you know, I was in a bad place a few weeks ago, and all you positive thoughts made me feel like me again!! Puglet's mom (hi Ms. Amanda) was just like my mom, and they used to work in animal hospitals. So when the vet told mom I'd tested positive for (get this) "Clostridium Perfringens" ( I know word-ee huh?!?) she was surprised she had never heard of that. She was told (by the fill-in vet she doesn't like....long story....if you want to know I can blog about it another time) that everyone, including humans, have this bacteria just hanging out in them already. It just watches TV, goes on the computer , takes a nap (no wait...that's dad) um err....well what I mean is that this bacteria is just kinda there not doing any harm. That is until something upsets the natural balance.
So since mom doesn't trust this fill-in vet (she's Italian and no she won't get over it dad), she had to google it. Basically, I ate something (dang never full tummy) and it messed with that balance and the end result was (literally) a liquid diet (and I don't mean slim fast)
If this was left untreated (ie no very expensive vet bill), one little pug can get dehydrated and eventually (gulp) pass to the rainbow bridge. Since mom hates rainbows (really people there is no gold) and has decided she likes me and plans to keep me around a while longer (despite that little furniture chewing incident-ohhh...that's a blog for a later date), she made sure I stayed hydrated (mmm...Smart Water) and dad cooked me a chicken bonanza.
So in the wise words of mom...."Stop eating sh*&%! off the ground Bellatrix!!". I will leave you all with that thought.

P.S. I totally ate a stick today...shh don't tell mom

  1. Clostridium Perfringens?? That sounds like a fancy desert or flower or something. I'm glad you're bacteria is better now (or at least just hanging out watching TV). Thanks for revealing the mystery - I know my human was supercurious. She's so weird.

Y'know, after I died my belly bacteria was all messed up. The vet gave me this stuff called FortiFlora to fix it. Maybe if your bacteria keep misbehaving, you can ask your vet about it. The good vet. Not the fill-in vet your mom doesn't like :)

PS: My human says "Stop eating sh*&%! off the ground" should be the official tag line of pugs.

  3. Hi Bellatrix! I can't believe you have bacteria in your belly that watches tv. That is so not cool. I would kick it out if I were you because the cable bill is soon to arrive and you don't want to have to pay for all those pay per view movies.

Seriously though, you must stop eating all that crazy stuff you find on the ground. Between you and Puglet I'm not sure what to do. Maybe a 12 step program?

  6. We really learned a lot from this post. Thanks Bella. Our human got all nerdy & looked up this bacteria too, except for humans. She's works with vets for humans...oh she says they're called doctors...that's what we said: vets...anyway...there are all kinds of bacteria living inside of our humans, it's usually good bacteria until there's too much of it for whatever reason. So do you think maybe we get our bacteria from our humans & not the sh*&%! we eat off the ground? Food for thought(no pun intended)
